Writing Off Customer Invoices

If it is determined that certain invoices may never be paid, we will help you identify which invoices will need to be written off to bad debts and apply credit memos as needed. This allows for the income to be reversed in the year the write-off is determined on an Accrual basis. This does not affect Cash Basis reporting in any way, but it still does allow for custom reports to be generated on WHICH invoices were written off and when. By using credit memos, we can also reverse the write-off if the customer happens to pay in the future. You will need the Accrual accounting add-on if Accrual basis write-offs are necessary.
